LED电源的使用注意事项

High frequency LED power supply is the direction of its development. High frequency makes LED power supply smaller and more widely used. In addition, the development and application of LED power supply is of great significance in energy conservation, resource conservation and environmental protection.


During the use of LED power supply, the following details should be noted:

01) Selection of wire rod

Problem: When long DC output wire is used under the condition of high current, the lamp bead cannot be lit. The optimum length of the test line:

1.5 square copper wire 12A/12V, with a maximum length of 2m

2.5 square copper wire 12A/12V, with a maximum length of 5 meters

4m2 copper wire 12A/12V, 15m at most


02) Safety matching standard of electric wire

1. The ultimate carrying current of 1 mm2 pure copper wire is 10A;

2. The safe carrying current of 1 mm2 pure copper wire is 6-7A;

3. The installation and use environment of advertising signs is worse than that of other industries, and pure copper wire should and must be the only choice;

4. The temperature difference between day and night in outdoor environment is large, and high-quality insulation sheath is selected to prevent cracking and avoid potential safety hazards.


03) Sufficient margin shall be reserved when using power supply

The working environment temperature of the power supply is an important factor affecting the service life of the power supply. Generally, the rated working environment temperature of the power supply is 0 ℃~+40 ℃, but often the customer seriously exceeds the rated working environment temperature of the power supply in actual use. In order to ensure the service life of the customer's system and power supply, it is recommended that the customer reserve 20% margin.

If the rated output power is 400W, the actual power should not exceed 320W.

For example, it is recommended to select the power supply with rated output power of 480W or more for the largest lamp bead or screen of 400W.

This effectively ensures the life and quality optimization of the customer's system and power supply, and reduces the light attenuation of the light source.


04) Pay attention to the relationship between load and ambient temperature.


05) Input voltage of the client.

The input voltage of the client must meet the rated input voltage of the power supply

Rated input voltage 200-240Vac (domestic voltage 220V ± 20Vac) Input voltage refers to the voltage supplied to switching power supply.

When the input voltage is higher than the rated voltage of the power supply, the power on/off impact on the fuse and MOSFET of the power supply will lead to the power supply fails.

When the input voltage is lower than the rated voltage of the power supply, the power supply will work for a long time, which will reduce the life of the power supply due to the temperature rise, or the parts will be damaged due to the high temperature, which will lead to power failure.


06) Make empirical mistakes

The LED lamp beads are constantly developing and updating, resulting in the actual loss power of the lamp beads is also increasing. If the previous sensory experience is used to distribute power, the lamp bead load will exceed the rated output power of the power supply, resulting in shorter life of the LED lamp and power supply, and power failure.
