What are the factors leading to the blackness of LED light source?
1、 Oxidation: silver in high temperature and humidity environment, will easily react with oxygen, generate black silver oxide. After confirming that the cause of blackening of light source is oxidation of silver coating, Dorn lighting will ask customers to further check the air tightness of light source and lamps, and eliminate the way of moisture penetration.
2、 Carbonization: in terms of experience, the data defects of the six raw materials (chip, bracket, crystal fixing glue, bonding line, phosphor, packaging glue) and the process defects of the three packaging processes (crystal fixing, wiring, glue filling) of LED light bar light source may lead to extremely high temperature of the light source, resulting in partial or total blackening of the light source and carbonization of the light source. Unreasonable heat dissipation planning of LED lamps, low thermal conductivity of heat dissipation data, unreasonable power supply planning and too many shortcomings of reflow soldering will also cause light source carbonization.
3、 Sulfurization, chlorination and bromination: the silver coating on the LED bracket will generate silver sulfide when touching the sulfur-containing gas, and the light sensitive silver halide will be generated when touching the acid nitrogen-containing chlorine and bromine gas, which will lead to the blacking failure of the light source. Sulfur / chlorine / bromination of light source may occur in every link of production, storage, aging and application of LED light source and lamps. After the light source blackening is diagnosed as sulfur / chlorine / bromination, the customer should select a detailed sulfur removal plan according to the links of sulfur / chlorine / bromination attack.
4、 Chemical incompatibility: the blackening of LED light source may also be caused by the pollution of chemical substances, which often occurs in sealed lamps with little or no air activity. However, the blackening of light source is only appearance. Sulfurization, chlorination, bromination, oxidation, carbonization and chemical incompatibility will lead to the blackening of LED light source. Due to the lack of professional testing equipment and personnel, most led companies usually rely on experience and conjecture to analyze the blackening failure, lacking scientific testing data.
