LED light efficiency and color rendering

spectral luminous efficiency

According to the spectral light efficiency curve (visual function) above, human eyes are most sensitive to 555nm green light under bright vision.

It should be noted that when the radiation power of 555nm green light is 1W, the luminous flux emitted is 683lm. At this time, the luminous flux generated by 1W power is the largest, that is, 1lm is equivalent to 1 / 683W, which is the minimum power required to generate 1lm luminous flux.

We can see that if high light efficiency is required, the radiation wavelength of the light source needs to be concentrated to 555 nm as much as possible. However, the requirement of color rendering is that the radiation wavelength of the light source should be distributed in various bands. That is, we should strive to avoid excessive rendering of green and take care of the needs of other colors, especially red... Then you have to choose, LED light efficient? Color rendering? You can't have both!
