Brief introduction to the development of neon light

Stage I: glass tube inflation and high-pressure luminescence

Neon light first appeared at the French exhibition in 1910. At this time, the neon light is bright, filled with thin neon gas or other electrified glass tubes or bulbs. It is a kind of cold cathode gas discharge lamp. A voltage of several thousand volts is applied to the electrode, and the gas in the ionization tube makes it emit light. The color of light depends on the gases in the tube, such as hydrogen (red), helium (yellow), carbon dioxide (white), mercury vapor (blue).

Phase II: LED flexible neon light (PVC extrusion)

Due to the complex process, high production cost and inconvenient transportation and installation of traditional neon light, the emergence of LED technology has completely changed the materials and production process of neon light. From 2003 to 2006, the flexible neon light adopted a new structure and LED technology. The bright LED bulb was wrapped in a special PVC shell. The unique optical technology and special shell design not only increased the light intensity and uniformity, but also delivered the process flow and improved the production efficiency.

LED flexible neon light is a professional linear lighting decoration product. Although it looks no different from ordinary neon light, it can be bent arbitrarily. It has the functions of crushing resistance and waterproof, and can be used both inside and outside the house.

Current stage and development trend: LED flexible neon light (silicone extrusion)

Around 2015, the waterproof lamp belt with silicone extrusion process appeared in the market, providing a new production process for the manufacturing of LED flexible silicone neon light. Due to the fatal defects of PVC materials: pungent smell, poor resistance to yellowing, easy to break, etc., silicone is used to replace PVC in the market to produce LED flexible silicone neon light. Silicone has many advantages that PVC does not have: environmental protection and non-toxic, high and low temperature resistance, acid-base resistance, UV yellowing resistance, softness and flexibility, long service life and good light transmittance......
